Here's a video about how we started and the team behind The New Theatre



The New Theatre was founded in 1997 by Anthony Fox and Leanne Willars.

Robert Lane designed and directed the first three shows.

Ronan Wilmot came on board as Joint Artistic Director in 1999 when he directed The Ginger Man by J.P Donleavy.

Shortly afterwards Fiona Hurley, Mannix Mc Phillips, Maedhbh McCullagh and Carmel White joined The New Theatre team bringing with them enthusiasm, experience and talent in various areas.
Recently David McConnell became the theatre's Finance Manager.

Our board has new members namely, Kevin Cronin, Nicholas Cummins and Phelim Donlon.

Wallace Construction in partnership with Connolly Books and The New Theatre have collaborated in launching a brand new, state of the art venue which opened in February 2007, celebrating 10 years of The New Theatre.

In 2009 Jane McCarthy and Peter Mc Poland joined The New Theatre Team.
